The Kaiser Rehabilitation Center at Hillcrest Medical Center has received recognition as America’s Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers 2023 from Newsweek. This prestigious award is presented by Newsweek and Statista Inc., the world-leading statistics portal and industry ranking provider.

The rehab team's exceptional achievement not only solidifies Kaiser as a premier rehabilitation center in America but also establishes it as the top choice for rehabilitation facilities in Oklahoma, earning the top spot in the state.

The nation’s top in-patient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs) were identified based on the following data sources:

  • National Online Survey: Thousands of medical experts (physicians, therapists, medical doctors, administration & staff working in physical rehabilitation facilities) were invited to an online peer-to-peer survey.
  • Quality Score: Participants were also asked to rank the quality of care, quality of service, quality of follow-up care, and accommodations and amenities. Data published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) was taken into consideration.
  • Accreditation: Data on physical rehabilitation centers provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC) were taken into consideration.

The Kaiser Rehabilitation Center at Hillcrest focuses on helping patients regain mobility and independence following an illness or injury. Having highly specialized rehab physicians and nurses, social workers and physical, occupational and speech therapy teams has helped cut down the length of stay for patients from 14.7 days, which is the national average, to 10.8 days. This difference allows patients to return home, move around and increase function in their community at a faster rate.

“We pride ourselves on delivering care which results in the highest patient functional outcome, a short length of stay and a successful return to community, giving patients their life back and a renewed sense of normalcy,” said Perri Craven, M.D., medical director of Kaiser Rehabilitation and associate medical director of Oklahoma Stroke & Neurological Institute.

The award specifically highlights inpatient rehabilitation facilities. Kaiser Rehabilitation Center at Hillcrest proudly offers both inpatient and outpatient services.
